10,000 Thank Yous!
Tomorrow, we make it official.
Joined by my family, I will file as a candidate to be the next Governor of the State of New Mexico!
And thanks to your help, when I go to the Secretary of State's office in the morning, I'll be carrying more than 10,000 petition signatures with me. That's almost five times what's required to get on the ballot, collected from every county in the state.
And these signatures were collected by you - our energized volunteer base - not by paid canvassers, like some other campaigns hire to get their signatures.
But now the real hard work begins.
Because while I have been around the state talking about the issues that are important to all of us, my five Republican opponents have spent most of their time attacking me. No new ideas, just lots of the same old attacks.
Well, New Mexicans deserve more than the same negative politics they are getting from my opponents. They want a new way forward - a plan that puts our small businesses first and gets New Mexicans back to work, new ideas to cut wasteful spending and increase efficiency, and a government that is more open and transparent.
I am going to be out there, traveling our state and bringing a message of a new way for New Mexico to every community. But I can't do it without your help.
I'm going to need each and every one of you - knocking on doors, calling your friends, talking to your neighbors - telling anyone who will listen that New Mexico's best days are ahead of us and while the times might be tough, we certainly are tougher.
